History of the SEAL Indiana program
Dr. Karen Yoder (SEAL Indiana Director 2003-2011) founded the SEAL Indiana program in March 2003.
From 2003-2007, SEAL Indiana resources included a 40’ mobile unit with two stationary dental chairs and one x-ray unit that traveled to sites. This resource provided services
throughout the state of Indiana including examinations, x-rays, dental sealants and fluoride varnish.
SEAL Indiana has participated in events and community outreach programs such as the Special Olympics, 500 Festival Kids Fest, Mayor’s Latino Fest, IU Day at the State Fair
and Santa Comes to Town. Over the years, Seal Indiana has provided 2550 screenings to children at these events.
