Orthodontist Dr. Kenneth Hyde of Valparaiso, Ind., was one of three individuals to receive a prestigious Maynard K. Hine Medallion for his work on behalf of the IU School of Dentistry's students and alumni on the IUPUI campus.

Dr. Hyde is a two-time graduate of the IU dental school, having received a dental degree in 1975 and a master's degree in orthodontics in 1979. The awards were presented during the Alumni Leadership Dinner at the Woodstock Club on Feb. 28. The Office of Alumni Relations at IUPUI oversees the annual event.
