Dental Student Olga Isyutina Is Scholarship Recipient at American Dental Education Association Meeting

Olga Isyutina, a fourth-year dental student at Indiana University School of Dentistry, was one of 12 predoctoral students from 11 U.S. dental schools to be announced as a recipient of an American Dental Education Association/Johnson & Johnson Healthcare Products Preventive Dentistry Scholarship at ADEA’s 2012 annual session, held in Orlando, Fla., in March.

Throughout her dental education Ms. Isyutina has been active in both the school’s service-learning and student research programs. Her service learning has included a trip to Brazil in 2010 with Dr. Andrea Ferreira Zandona’s International Service-Learning group, and Ms. Isyutina has served as president of the IU dental school's Student Research Group. In 2011, she won the Cyril S. Carr Research Scholarship for demonstrating overall excellence in research at the predoctoral level. For her poster presentation at 2011’s Research Day, she evaluated oral disease awareness in medical professionals in the U.S., with Dr. Nadim Islam, Department of Oral Pathology, Radiology, and Medicine, serving as her faculty mentor.
