Infection Control

Specific Objectives:

  • Develop methods that evaluation sterilization and disinfection processes (e.g., sterilizers, instrument washers, ultrasonic cleaners and environmental cleaning and microbial neutralization)
  • Conduct products evaluations to meet approval by regulatory agencies and professional associations
  • Develop and test over-the-counter products (e.g., mouthrinses, dentifrices and topical agents) containing antimicrobial agents
  • Evaluate and improve clinical infection control processes (e.g., dental unit water lines, personal protective equipment, impression materials and prosthetic devices)
