Who is considered a member of the IUSD Community for training?

The tern “IUSD Community” refers to faculty, staff, students (residents), volunteers and any other persons that perform work or whose work is within IUSD.

If I have a quick question on HIPAA or Compliance is there someone I can call to ask the question?

Yes. The IUSD Compliance Office is always willing and eager to answer the phone and answer any questions that you may have related to HIPAA and Compliance.  Contact the Compliance and Privacy Officer at 317-274-7957 or email iusdcomp@iu.edu

I would like to use a patient photo in my presentations given outside of an IUSD classroom setting, is there anything special I need to do?

Yes. You will need to have your patient’s permission to use their photo.  First obtain the  IUSD Authorization for Release of Informantion Form and the Photo Release Form and upload the completed forms into axiUm. Both completed forms are to be forwarded to iusdcomp@iu.edu. As always, you can contact the Privacy Officer with questions for use of patient photos.
