Main Goals

To advance scientific knowledge on the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, clinical management and prevention of dental erosion and dental abrasion. 

To provide scientific support for contract testing in the Erosion-Abrasion area.  

Specific Goals

  • To develop and validate models for studying dental erosion and abrasion and their prevention

  • To develop and validate new clinical methods for measuring the progress of dental erosion and abrasion

  • To develop and evaluate approaches to decrease the erosive potential of foods and beverages

  • To develop and evaluate new methods to clinically manage and prevent dental erosion and abrasion
