Dr. Irina Leyvand originally worked in the Bone Research Laboratory (the immediate predecessor to the Mineralized Tissue and Histology Research Laboratory) as a Senior Research Technician and later a Visiting Professor in the Department of Oral Facial Development (1997). She earned her DDS (1975) from Moscow Medical Stomatological University in Moscow, Russia. Dr. Leyvand continued her education with a General Practice Residency (GPR) certification (1976) in Endodontics, Periodontics, Pedodontics, and Oral Surgery Dentistry. In 1984, she concentrated on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Pathology at Moscow State Medical University. Currently, Dr. Leyvand is a CTS Instructor in the pre-doctoral program (DDS) and works closely with the Officeof Dental Education. Because of her close relationship to the pre-doctoral students, she serves as a member of the Admissions Committee, CTS Case Writing Panel, and a Triple Jump Examination Recalibrator. Dr. Leyvand is a member of the Indiana Section of the American Association for Dental Research, American Dental Association, and Indiana Association of Orthodontists.
