Join us on Monday, April 7, 2014 for the twenty-second Annual Research Day presented in association with Indiana Section, American Association for Dental Research held on the 3rd and 4th floor of the IUPUI Campus Center.

A special welcome to our guest presenters:

University of Detroit Mercy
School of Dentistry

University of Louisville
School of Dentistry

On the Cover: As shown by dental student Austin Starr, the glove is covered with polymer nanofibers currently being developed at IUSD by a team led by dental biomaterials faculty member Marco Bottino.

In the past 3 years many students, including several IUSD and IUPUI graduate students, have been introduced to electrospinning, a nanotechnology-based technique that has a wide range of biomedical applications.

In dentistry, the use of 3D nanofibrous structures (i.e., scaffolds) for craniofacial and dental tissues regeneration, including the pulp and periodontal tissues, is currently under investigation. Dr. Bottino is also striving to develop nanofiber-reinforced dental composites and drug delivery systems.

Monograph will be available for download soon.
